Beginning January 1, 2006, a number of changes in the Ontario Building Code Act and Building Code affected home plans. Ontario's Bill 124 requires design firms engaged in the business of providing design activities to the public to be registered. The supplier of the home plan must complete Schedule 1 (House) of the standard building permit application used across Ontario. There is an additional fee of $75 on all plans for this service.

This service is not available for plans purchased in reproducible, PDF, or CAD formats. If you purchase a plan in one of these formats, and make design changes, then the architect, designer, or engineer who makes those changes will be responsible for completing the application to conform to Ontario Bill 124.
